The network
Transilien and RER (Réseau Express Régional - Regional Express Network) are suburban trains operating principally to and from Paris region stations. Click here for an interactive map of the Paris region and Île-de-France network (website in French)
Times and frequency
Transilien and RER trains operate all year round from 4:00/5:00 am to 1.15 am (varies according to routes and stations). The frequency of the service varies according to the rush hour traffic. Waiting time varies between 5 - 30 minutes at most Transilien and RER stations.
Buying tickets
You can buy tickets: - from the automatic ticket machines at Transilien and RER stations - at ticket offices in Ile de France stations and in métro and RER stations
Ticket prices
Vary according to distance. You can buy single tickets and books of tickets. Further information about fares and discounts is available from a Transilien or RATP customer service agent or atTransilien.com.

- When your journey involves a connection with either Transilien or RER, the name of the relevant train service is indicated in the summary table at the top of the page.
The time of departure, journey duration and order total does not include Transilien or RER journeys
- On the train availability page: - The 1st tab (default view) shows you the journey sold on Voyages-sncf.com and the various fares available. - The 2nd tab shows you the complete itinerary including the Transilien or RER journey times.
On the order confirmation page:
A summary of the Transilien or RER itinerary is displayed under your order. The cost of travel on the RER or Transilien train is not included in your order total.
On the timetable consultation page:
The full itineraries including the Transilien or RER connections are displayed.
